A botanic garden as a tool to combine public perception of nature and life-science investigations on native/exotic plants interactions with local pollinators

Life-sciences indicate a worldwide alarming decline of insects and in particular of pollinators. However, applied sciences often tend to underestimate the public perception of nature, which is best addressed by the social sciences. Therefore, further efforts are needed to connect the scientific field with the public perception of nature. The work presents the results of a transversal project in which an applied research on the plant-pollinator interactions is directly compares with the sensations of visitors in the context of a botanical garden.
